A few things to know about the editor, your files and what to expect.
How your files are handled ↗Is this online photo editor free?
Yes. This deployment is free to use, with no account required to open the editor, edit an image or export a file.
Do my images get uploaded?
Opening a local image and using the built-in editing tools processes the image in your browser. This site has no image-upload backend. Optional remote-image and web-font features contact external services; see the privacy page for details.
Can I work with layers and transparent backgrounds?
Yes. miniPaint supports multiple layers and transparency. Export as PNG or a supported WebP mode to retain transparent pixels; JPG does not support transparency. Save a JSON project separately if you need to preserve editable layers.
Does it replace Photoshop or support every PSD file?
It is a lighter browser editor for everyday image work, not a complete Photoshop replacement. Do not rely on it for PSD compatibility, print color management or every professional editing workflow.
Can I use it on a phone?
The editor includes mobile controls, but a larger screen and a mouse make detailed layer work easier. Very large images and complex projects can exceed your device’s available memory.
Will my work be saved automatically?
Local recovery is optional and off by default. Enable it in the editor to keep one browser checkpoint, within size limits. Use Export for a finished image and Save project for an editable JSON project. Download important work before closing the tab.
